Protect your fingers from hot cups and provide a little insulation to keep your beverage warm.

Your cup needs a little cabled “sweater”!

This pattern is perfect for learning basic cables.

Knit flat and then seamed (for cups) or closed with buttons (mugs), this cozy is customizable to fit your beverage vessel of choice, whether it’s a standard carry out cup or a jumbo mug.

Makes a great gift add-on for someone who appreciates hot beverages. Put tea, coffee or cocoa into a mug or travel mug, and finish off with a cozy. You could even add a gift card to their beverage emporium of choice.

Yarn Choices
This project is a great option for those partial skeins of worsted weight yarn left at the end of another project. Natural fibers work best, as they won’t melt from the heat. And animal fibers will provide the best insulating properties, especially when wet, so you may wish to avoid plant fibers, such as cotton, linen or hemp.
