Cae Glas Shawl
Cae Glas means green field in Welsh and is the name of the town park in Oswestry, Shropshire, where I grew up. It seemed a suitable name for this substantial crescent shawl, designed using 3 green yarns from Skein Queen. Of course, you can knit it in whatever colour combination you would like, with fewer or more colours, the mixture of garter, lace and cables still looks great! Yarn requirements: 300g of fingering weight yarn
Sample 1: knitted using up to 3 skeins of fingering weight yarn by Skein Queen in the following bases and colours: CC1: 256m/280y in Linger colourway Rebellion, CC2: 385m/420y in Tweedore colourway Mantis, CC3: 271m/296y in Tweedore colourway Grazeley Green
Sample 2: knitted using Drops Flora in the colourway Beige for the main colour and Brown for the contrast
Sample 3: knitted using Skein Herione BFL/Masham in the colourway Natural Blue using indigo
Needles: US 5/ 3.75mm circular needle to accommodate a large number of stitches
Gauge: 24.5 sts and 34 rows over 10cm/4” in stocking stitch on 3.75mm needles
Notions: stitch markers, cable needle, tapestry needle
Dimensions: Wingspan 87” and depth 28”
