Cake Crop
Cake Crop is a lightweight knitted t-shirt with a relaxed silhouette and subtle structural details. The cropped length, soft raglan shaping, and slightly offset sleeves give it a casual look that still feels considered. The fabric is kept simple in stocking stitch, allowing the colour transitions in the yarn to define the expression of the piece.
This design relies on the yarn to create variation. The combination of a colour-changing cake yarn with a solid cotton strand produces a soft marled effect that shifts naturally across the garment. The icord finishes at the sleeves and hem add a clean edge that frames the shape without adding bulk.
Cake Crop is knitted from the bottom up in the round. The work begins with a ribbed neckline, followed by raglan increases that shape the yoke while short rows are worked across the back for a better fit. Once the yoke is complete, the sleeves are either finished directly with an icord edge or placed on hold and completed separately, depending on the chosen finish. The body is continued in the round to the desired length and finished with an icord rib for a cohesive look.

Design details
Cake Crop is defined by its simplicity and yarn-driven look. The construction is straightforward, but the combination of raglan shaping and short rows improves fit across the shoulders and neckline. The icord edges give a clean, finished appearance, while the cropped length keeps the design modern and easy to style. The pattern allows flexibility in both sleeve finish and body length, making it adaptable without changing the core construction.
