This unstructured, cropped, lacey vest is perfect for wearing over sundresses or sleeveless tops. Worked from the bottom up in one piece to the underarms where the fronts and back are separated. The shoulders are joined with a 3-needle bind-off after decreasing at the front shoulders.

Skills required
Long-tail cast-on
Simple lace (yarn overs and decreases)
Three-needle bind-off

Materials
Sport or DK-weight yarn (sample was knit in Cestari Ashlawn Collection – 75% cotton/25% wool). See yardage in chart (see photos).
2 pairs of US7/4.5mm circular needles (any length will work but 24” or slightly longer works well) or size needed to obtain gauge
Scrap yarn, stitch holders, or extra needles for holding live stitches
Stitch markers
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Blocking supplies

Please note!
Sizing for this vest is not by bust measurement! To choose a size, measure the wearer from underarm to underarm across the back. Choose a size within a couple of inches of this measurement (“A” in the table) and then see if the armscye and the width of 1 front is suitable for your garment. Because this pattern was written to use only full repeats of the lace, sizing is somewhat limited. If the sizes given don’t have a set of measurements that work for you, you might try working at a slightly different gauge. If you need help, post in the chat thread for this pattern.

Sample is an XS knit in Cestari Ash Lawn Collection and the model’s back measurement is 15”.
