About the pattern

This is an intermediate crochet pattern for a short sleeved summer top with a lacy yoke in the shape of feathers.

It is worked top-down from the neckline, with the sleeves and body separated after the yoke is complete.
The sleeves and body are also worked top-down, seamlessly.

The round yoke shape is customized for each size, with a different number of pattern repeats, for the best fit. You can finish the feathers with a flat tip or a pointy tip. A separate chart includes the instructions for the pointy tip.

The pattern is written out for all 12 sizes and includes ease of 5-10 cm at the upper bust.

You will choose a size based on the finished garment measurements and follow only the instructions for that size.

The text is available in US and UK terms. It is formatted in 2 columns for easy reading. Black text on white background, with colors to highlight differences between sizes.

Skill level

Intermediate: you will work mainly with double crochet stitches and chains. Clusters are used for the lace in the yoke.

Sizes and measurements

The pattern comes with 12 fully written sizes. You can customize the length of the body and the sleeves, as well as the fit of the bust, by choosing a larger or smaller cup.

You can also create waist and hip shaping if desired, using the same instructions and well-placed stitch markers.

• Yarn – size 2 or fingering weight yarn at 400 meters per 100 grams (see below for length requirements per size);

Approximate total length of required yarn per size with D cup and with short sleeves:

• in meters: 925, 1000, 1100 (1130, 1250, 1400) 1540, 1700, 1815 {1980, 2140, 2400};

• in yards: 1000, 1100, 1200 (1250, 1400, 1550) 1700, 1850, 2000 {2200, 2400, 2600}.

• Hook – 2.5 mm or 3 mm or hook size that gets you gauge;
• Scissors and tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
• Blocking pins and mats.
• 6 stitch markers (2 for bust, 4 for sleeves).

In main sample (yellow to purple gradient): 1000m/250 g Sparwolle custom gradient, 50% cotton, 50% acrylic.
