Calma
Knit yourself a piece of enduring comfort with Calma by designer Becky Baker. The classic top-down sweater in the tones Cornish Slate and Sand has a beautiful, relaxed fit thanks to its well-thought-out details. The wide neck ribbing hugs you gently for cosy warmth, and the round yoke with its geometric jacquard pattern is a joy to knit - with our Lovely Merino Treat and its easy-to-remember repeats, it almost
flies off the needles. A wonderful knitting experience, even for those who don’t have much colourwork experience. Calma values your individuality and can easily be adjusted
in length and yoke depth to suit your preferences.
Calma is knitted seamlessly from the top down. Right after the generous neck in a 1x1 rib pattern, you work the two-
colour jacquard pattern with its simple repeats. You then improve the yoke fit with short rows before separating the sleeves and body. The monochrome body is knitted in stockinette stitch down to the waistband, which is worked in a 1x1 rib pattern. For the sleeves, you pick up the stitches previously put on hold and knit them in one colour with
even decreases until the cuff.
Calma is a design from our 2023 collection. In these turbulent times, there is much cause for reflection. And especially the desire for serenity and calm, for light-heartedness and peace. We have therefore named the designs in this collection after this longing, in different languages. The Spanish word Calma means calm.
