Calon Mawr is welsh for big heart, I’ve used the Shetland lace pattern here as to me it looks like hearts if you use it upside down!

It’s a real hug of a cowl, I’ve used 2 yarns knitted together, a lovely Baby Alpaca 4 ply and a kid mohair & silk lace which can be in toning or in contrasting colours, it’s fun to play around with and see what you can do!

There is a choice of 2 sizes to knit;
short - 90 cm circumference cowl, 60cm deep
long - 130 cm circumference cowl, 36 cm deep.

The pictured cowl is the short one, both use a similar amount of yarn.

It’s worked in the round, on 5mm needles, so it grows really quickly and it’s a great present for someone you love!
