THIS DISTINCTIVE design by Kristin Blom is first knitted sideways, then seamed together and worked top-down for the bottom edging. The criss-cross pattern is a type of modern open lace. The fabric has a lacy look, but it’s actually a rib pattern consisting of a twist and purl stitches. The Border Mill yarn is a dream to work with: the alpaca and the merino give structure and warmth; the silk gives it a bit of shine; and the bamboo for a bit of drape.
