Wear it as a single long loop or double it around your neck—however you style it, the Camerado Cowl’s textured mix of slipped stitches and lace is both pretty and warm. One of three designs in the Open Road Collection, the cowl can be knit in either a medium/standard size (about 54 inches/137 cm circumference) or an extra long/wide version (68 inches/173 cm).

Inspired by Walt Whitman’s “Song of the Open Road,” the collection includes a coordinating sweater, mitts, and cowl that can be worn separately or together on your outdoor adventures.

“Camerado, I give you my hand!
I give you my love more precious than money,
I give you myself before preaching or law;
Will you give me yourself? will you come travel with me?
Shall we stick by each other as long as we live?”
—Walt Whitman, “Song of the Open Road”
