This raglan-sleeve sweater features a simple undulating eyelet lace pattern. The hems are worked in garter stitch, as is the Henley button placket. The sweater yoke is knit in the round from the hem upwards to the underarms. The sleeves are then knit in the round from the cuffs up, and joined to the body. The sweater is worked in the round with raglan decreases to shape the top for a few rows after joining the sleeves to the body. After splitting the front for the Henley button placket, the sweater is worked back and forth. This sweater is fitted due to the stretchy nature of the lace pattern. If a looser, boxier fit is desired, considering working the next larger size.

NOTE: There have been several questions regarding the instructions for the sleeve increases. When working the increases, you will work one set of increases (2 sts increased) and then work three rounds WITHOUT INCREASING. You will repeat these 4 rounds (1 increase round, followed by 3 “as established” rounds) to reach the total number of sts in the sleeve for the size you have selected to knit. You should not work the increase round on every round of the sleeves.

The sample is shown with approximately 1 3/4” of negative ease.
