Canmore Cowl is a simple and relaxing mosaic colourwork pattern with a ton of sass! I have named it for a very special place here in the Alberta Rocky Mountains. I hope one day you have the chance to wander and appreciate all that this charming small town has to offer. When knitting your own Canmore Cowl, feel free to combine many colours using your leftover scraps or advent mini skeins, or choose two beautiful contrasting colours to make the geometric mosaic pattern shine. And hello….how about that super fun fringe?

Yarn Tips:
Both samples used approximately:
MC - 330 yds (75g)
CC - 150-175 yds (35-40g total, approximately 12g per repeat)

The MC in the blue sample was sock yarn and mohair held together throughout, and mini skeins for the CC. You will need approximately 330 yds of EACH MC yarn.

The MC in the purple sample used sock yarn and suri alpaca held together for the cuffs and stripes, and MC sock yarn on its own for the mosaic pattern repeats. One CC was used throughout.

HIGHLIGHTS OF CANMORE COWL:

• simple and repetitiveslip stitch colourwork, you are only using one colour yarn in each round. No awkward fiddling with multiple yarns! Mosaic colourwork is a great choice for that first colourwork project.

• a perfect choice to highlight some of your holiday advent mini skeins! Mix in as many as you love. Each CC used approximately 12-14g per repeat.

• no increasing or decreasing, and this size project is so enjoyable to work on a 40cm/16” circular needle from cast on to bind off.

• Fringe! Fringe! Fringe! The optional (but fabulous) fringe gives you that extra flair. If you have never attempted this before, use the video link provided to see how straightforward it is.

• I have used super soft mohair and suri alpaca to add that extra scrumptious coziness to this cowl. This is optional and the pattern will turn out equally well without it.
