I think it’s a growing issue for a lot of knitters these days to have amassed a collection of fingering weight leftovers and mini skeins (I know I sure have!). As a designer, I’m always trying to think up clever ways of using them as I hate to waste even the smallest amounts of precious, hand dyed yarn. This hat uses 6 colours of fingering weight yarn, in quantities all less than 20 grams each. It would be easy to make this hat in fewer or more colours, just substitute what you like in the colorwork charts. The colorwork in this design is about as basic as it comes, so it’s an ideal project for someone who is new to colorwork.
Also…. Can’t we all…. Just get along?
