Cantankerous Crocodile
This pattern is written for experienced knitters and uses many different techniques. Most of the pattern is knitted without seams and only the legs are sewn onto the body. It is not a ‘quick knit’ but the finished product is well worth the time and effort that goes into it.
Techniques needed are wrap and turn (w&t), knitted cast-on, Kitchener st closure, picking up edge stitches, knitting between picked up sts to create a double layer and several different increase techniques.
This pattern uses about 85g of Noro Kureyon sock yarn and If you use this yarn you will obtain a crocodile about 24” (60 cm) long, but you can use any weight yarn so long as you choose needles to give a gauge that is tight enough so that the stuffing does not show through the knitting. You will need a couple of yards of yarn in different colors for the eyes and teeth.
You will need double point needles and 2 circular needles.
The body is stabilized with chenille sticks and filled with polyester fill.
