Canyonlands
Canyonlands is a deep garter triangle shawl designed to play with long colour run yarns. The body of the shawl is worked sideways in a variation of Please Mind the Gap. Keeping the garter stitch relaxed (preferably to the point of being semi-comatose) gives this wrap a lightness and drape that make it very easy to wear.
The name is inspired by Three Waters Farm’s gorgeous fibre, which was pure joy to spin.
Ideal for showing off two or more complementary colours, or a solid paired with a short colour run or variegated yarn. Adaptable to any yarn weight, and any yardage, by adjusting needle size to suit your preferred gauge.
If you’ve had a skein of lovable-but-crazy variegated yarn languishing in your stash for years that you don’t know how to make use of, this may be the pattern for you.
Pattern rows are worked on RS only.
Can be worked entirely from written pattern, or from chart with some notes.
