CAP SLEEVE COTTON
Here’s a summer version of the circular yoke sweater. The yoke is sideways knitted by means of short rows. The sample features a faux fairisle yoke created by means of short rows.
YARN, GAUGE AND MACHINE:
Two gauges are provided so that either a bulky or standard gauge machine may be used. Silk City .75 softball cotton or other soft worsted cotton yarn gets a gauge of 4 stitches/6 rows per inch at about stitch size 6 on the bulky. Most mid-gauge machines can match the gauge. Bonds try key-plate 3-4 and work the ribbing by reforming stitches. A single 1 lb. Cone will make the first 3 sizes. Have 2 cones on hand for the larger sizes. For standard gauge and Passap machines, choose one of the many yarns that gets 7 stitches/10 rows per inch. 2/8 cotton works well. 1 lb will be adequate for sizes through 42”. Larger sizes may require 2. Take gauge measurements AFTER washing.
SIZES: finished bust/chest: 38, 40, 42, 45,48,50” Finished length 26” for first 3 sizes 27.5” for others
