Another of my own designs .

DESIGNERS NOTES:
I called it Cape Beanies after my long stay in Cape Town . The winter was extremely cold so I decided to design and knit some beanies for myself . The beanies are both knit in rounds . The 1st one is a slim fit and the 2nd one is slightly slouchy . I also include knitting instructions for a Messy Bun Beanie and a Head band ( circular and knit flat ) The pattern is a cable like stitch , with a 6 row repeat .

MEASUREMENTS :
The beanies are unisex . Can fit any adult head .
My head circumference is 57 cm ( about 22 ½ ‘’ )
Others : 57 , 57 ½ + 58 cm ( 22 ½’’ – 22 ¾ ‘’ )

SUPPLIES NEEDED :
I used Paintbox Yarns Simple DK ,
For Slim fit Beanie: about 60gm (165.6 meters /181.1 yards). Colourway Vanilla Cream
Also Lion Brand Mandala . Colourway 205 Pixie about 49 gm (177.9 meters /194.5 yards)
For Slightly slouchy beanie : 100 gm ( 276.0 meters / 301.8 yards). Colourway 108 Light Caramel
For Messy Bun Beanie : 60 gm ( 165.6 meters /181.1 yards), Colourway 150 Bubblegum Pink
For Head Band ( in rounds ) : 20 gm ( 55.2 meters /60.4 yards)

For Head Band ( knit flat ) : I used Stylecraft Special DK = 42 gm (123.5 m /135.0 yards) Colourway Khaki

• Circular needles size 3.75mm ( US 5 )
• Straight knitting needles no 3.75mm ( US 5 ) for head band knit flat ( with seam )
• Darning needle used at finishing off of crown .
• Row counter
• Stitch markers Additionally : Elastic thread for head band .
