The pattern includes instructions for making a set of mitts in adult sizes S-XL, and adult hat sizes S/M-L/XL. Two different needle sizes account for the different finished sizes of items; choose appropriate needle size.

Each item, no matter which size, will require a single skein of yarn; the hat require less than one skein, and the mitts (in any size) require less than one skein. You will need two full skeins to make both a hat and mitts, in any size.
