This deceptively simple cowl was made to showcase North Light Fibers Water Street, a luxurious DK weight in 40% cashmere and 60% super fine merino. It provides a lovely hand and feels great against the skin. As knitters vary, 3 skeins are called for to ensure the correct dimensions are reached.

The pattern is great for knitters of all levels who wish to try something different from the normal cowl construction. Beginning with a Möbuis Cast-on, it is worked in the round from the center outward to the edges. The stitch pattern is repetitive and easily memorized but has a slight variation to keep things interesting. The pattern includes 2 pages of photo instruction for the Möbuis Cast-on and a video link.

Professionally tech-edited.

My sincerest thanks to Cat Bordhi, the original developer of the Möbius Cast On (MCO) technique, for graciously providing permission for its use in this pattern. While the cast on is easy to execute, the written instructions may confuse knitters new to this fascinating method. Please refer to Cat Bordhi’s website (catbordhi.com) for a video demonstration.
