A Tunisian crochet pattern is available here.

About the pattern

Complex embroidery motifs from my Romanian heritage inspired this lacy triangle bandana pattern, with crenellations and diamonds.

Use cotton yarn for a summer bandana or thicker wool yarn for a cozy winter bandana.

The bandana is knit bottom up and includes a non-curling garter edge.

The pattern includes full instructions and charts (the same chart on A4 and A3 sized pages for ease of printing), plus an easy read version that can be used on mobile.

Size and measurements

When meeting gauge and working all rows in the pattern, the triangle measures 60 cm across the top and 28 cm in depth, due to the slight elasticity of the lace pattern.

Notions

  • Yarn: 50 g or 125-160 meters of size 2 cotton yarn at about 250-340 meters per 100 grams - for example 8/4 cotton yarn;

  • Needles and hook: 3 mm straight or cabled needles, 2.5 mm regular crochet hook;

  • Stitch markers: 2 markers;

  • Tapestry needle and scissors;

  • Blocking mat and pins.

  • Optional: one large bead (10-12 mm).

Easy read

The easy read version respects the following requirements:

24 point Arial font; 26 and 28 point and bold for headings;
black text, white background;
left justified, 1 inch margins;
no columns;
page numbers bottom left;
no charts required to make the pattern;
all abbreviations explained in the list.
