Carly Cardigan
The Carly Cardigan is knitted by starting at the back from the top down to the base of the armholes. Then, both fronts are picked up and knitted separately to the armhole, and then the front and back are joined and knitted in flat down to the hem. Pick up and knit for the sleeves.
Gauge / With 6 mm (US 10) needle :
15 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” in stockinette stitch after blocking.
19 sts x 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” in cables after blocking.
Recommended ease : At least 10 cm / 4”
Size:
1 ( 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 ) Sample is show in size 1 on a model who is 163 cm (5’- 4”) tall, and with 37cm / 14.5” positive ease.
Finished Body Circumference:
120 (128, 136)(145, 153, 161) cm / 47.25 (50.5, 53.5)(57, 60.25, 63.5)
Yarn:
Quince&co, Osprey, 100% American wool; Aran/heavy worsted weight, 170yd/155m/100g
Color chanterelle: 8 ( 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 )skeins. Approx. 1240 ( 1395, 1550, 1705, 1860 )m/1360 ( 1530, 1700, 1870, 2040 )yds
If you don’t need to knit sleeves, you can reduce 2 skeins (310m/340yd) of yarn.
(You may need more yardage when extending the length of body or sleeves)
Needles:
6 mm (US 10) for the body. Use circular needles ranging from 60 to 120 cm according to the requirements of each section.
5 mm (US 8) for the hem, cuffs and the front band finishing. DPNs or preferred needles (Magic Loop) for small circumference knitting.
Other Materials:
Stitch markers, removable markers, cable needles, waste yarn.
