The ripple afghan is a perennial crochet favorite. This is my take on it. Rather than the classic zig-zag, I chose to go with smoother, more rounded ripples. The front-post double crochet (FPdc) stitches between each ripple give this afghan the look of layered bunting, which is why I called this the “Carnival Bunting” afghan.

The throw I describe is crocheted sideways. I like this approach because it lets you establish the length right away and then work to the desired width. But if you prefer, you can do it the other way around. Colors are completely up to you, of course!
