CAROLS includes step-by-step video tutorials, so you’ll never get stuck while knitting

SIZES: 1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7) covers a range of
chest circumferences from 80 to 140 cm.

If your chest circumference is larger, do not hesitate to contact me and I will scale up the pattern to the size you
need.

Final measurements of the garment at the chest in cm:
92 (103, 112, 123) (132, 143, 152)cm approx.

This top is designed to be worn with positive ease of between 7 and 17 cm approximately at the chest.
The sample shown is size 2 with 13cm of positive ease.

Gauge: In stockinette stitch worked flat 10 x 10cm gives:

18.5 stitches and 26 rows before blocking.
18 stitches and 25 rows after blocking.

It is advisable to note down the measurements of your swatch before and after blocking, so you can estimate the final measurements of the garment.

Yarn: Worsted weight yarn 90m/50g approx.

500 (550, 600, 650) (700, 750, 800) g
900 (990, 1170, 1260) (1350, 1440, 1530) metres
9 (10, 11, 12) (13, 14, 15) balls

These amounts are approximate. The total yarn used will also depend on the type of yarn, your gauge or any modifications you may make to the garment.

The sample shown used LANG Carpe Diem
(70% Merino, 30% Alpaca), colour 0062

Needles:

• 5mm circular needles with a cable of 60 or 80 cm or size needed to get gauge and 4.5mm for picking up stitches and working the button bands.
• 5mm circular needles for knitting in a small circumference for the sleeves, and 4.5mm for picking up stitches at the sleeves.

Other Materials:

• Several stitch markers, one of which should be different
to mark the beginning of round.
• A long cable with a connector or any accessory to allow
you to try on the garment.
• 4 or more buttons about 2.3cm in diameter (depending on the length you give to the garment)
• The same number of buttons as above with a much smaller diameter to sew on behind.
• Tape measure, tapestry needle and scissors.

Construcción:

CAROLS is worked top-down, with some parts worked flat
and some parts in the round as follows:

1.- We cast on for the width of the back and work flat top-
down to the underarm.
2.- Pick up stitches from the shoulder to work the right
front down to the underarm and do the same with the other shoulder for the left front.
3.- At this point we arrange the two fronts and the back to join and continue working the body flat to the desired length.
4.- We add the buttonbands to the fronts and around the back neck.
5.- Pick up stitches around the armholes to knit the sleeves in the round.
And it’s ready! Time to find the perfect look for it.

Tallas: 1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7) cubre un rango de contorno de pecho de 80 a 140 cm.

Medidas finales de la prenda en el contorno de pecho en cm:

92 (103, 112, 123) (132, 143, 152) cm aprox.

CAROLS está diseñado para ser llevado con una holgura de entre unos 7 y 17 cm aproximadamente en el contorno del pecho. El modelo de la fotografía es la talla 2 con 12 cm de holgura.

Tensión: A punto liso en abierto 10x10 cm son:

18.5 puntos y 26 pasadas antes del bloqueo.
18 puntos y 25 pasadas después del bloqueo.

Es aconsejable anotar las medidas de la muestra antes y después del bloqueo, de esa forma podremos estimar las medidas finales de la prenda.

Hilado: Grosor worsted 90m = 50g aprox

Estas cantidades son aproximadas. El metraje total de hilo
empleado va a depender también del tipo de hilado, tensión o de las modificaciones que hagamos a la prenda.

Para el modelo de la fotografía hemos usado LANG Carpe Diem (70% Merino, 30% Alpaca), color 0062

Agujas:

• Circulares de 5mm con cable de 60 u 80 cm o grosor
adecuado para obtener la tensión de la muestra y de 4.5mm para recoger puntos y rematar la tapeta.
• Circulares de 5mm especiales para tejer círculo pequeño para las mangas y remate del escote, y de 4.5mm para recoger los puntos de las mangas y del escote.

Otros materiales:

• Varios marcadores, uno de ellos distinto para marcar el inicio de vuelta.
• Cable largo con conector o cualquier útil para ir probándonos la prenda.
• 4 botones o más botones (dependiendo del largo que demos a la prenda) si tejes el cárdigan más largo de unos 2.3cm de diámetro.
• El mismo número de botones que los anteriores pequeñitos para coserlos por detrás.
• Cinta métrica, aguja lanera y tijeras.

Construcción:

CAROLS se teje de arriba hacia abajo, partes en abierto y
partes en circular de la siguiente forma:

1.- Montamos para el ancho de espalda y tejemos de arriba hacia abajo en abierto hasta la parte más baja de la sisa.
2.- Recogemos los puntos en el hombro para tejer el delantero derecho hasta la parte más baja de la sisa y hacemos lo mismo con el otro hombro para el delantero
izquierdo.
3.- A esta altura disponemos los dos delanteros y la espalda para unir y seguir tejiendo el cuerpo en abierto hasta el largo deseado.
4.- Rematamos tapetas y escote trasero.
5.- Recogemos puntos en las sisas para tejer las mangas en circular.
