If you like the play of color then you will love this project which is done using Colorshift Yarns. It looks wonderful done in a Colorbridge or an ombre (explained below.) There are pinks, mocha, gray, purples - every color you can imagine from which to choose - colors for both men and women, which make unique holiday gifts. Forget the rooster toilet seat cover you had planned!

I found Colorshift Yarns on Etsy and have been obsessed with Erica Heftmann’s creations ever since. I knitted the Casapinka Cowl using a Colorbridge which takes you across the color wheel from Botanical Green to Orchid. Each color uses a bit of the previous color to get you there. It’s exciting to see the colors change so beautifully as you knit each row. She has a number of different colorbridges but her gradated sets which have an ombre appearance would look beautiful as well.

Note: I’ve listed alternative yarns that may give you a similar cowl in case your are dying to dig into your stash and get started. Just follow the pattern without changing colors.

It can be worn doubled or tripled and is reversible. You can see it worn all ways in the photos. You can see me dying of heat in the wool sweater, cowl and raincoat.

Erica of Colorshift Yarns will dye your yarn if it’s not available. The colorbridge with 660 yards costs $43.80. It is 100% wool that is
soft and drapes beautifully.

Measurements: 76” around, 8” tall. Will fit everyone including the family rhinocerous.
