Caseta
Caseta is knit in the round from the bottom up. After dividing at the armholes, the front and back are worked flat separately, with sleeve stitches cast on, and worked up at the same time. The shoulders are seamed using a 3-Needle Bind Off, and stitches are picked up around neck to work the collar. Due to the design, this sweater is also completely reversible.
YARN: The Fibre Co. Savannah (50% wool, 20% cotton, 15% linen + 15% soya; 160 yds/50gm skein): Hickory, 5 (5, 6, 6, 6, 7) skeins.
GAUGE: 16 sts + 29.25 rnds = 4” (10 cm) on larger ndls in Garter st, after blocking. One 22 rnd rep of Body Patt = 3” (7.5 cm).
NEEDLES: 1- 24” (60 cm) US 10 (6 mm) and 1- 24” (60 cm) US 7 (4.5 mm) circular.
NOTIONS: 1 stitch marker, stitch holders or smooth waste yarn of comparable gauge, tapestry needle.
SIZE: 35 (38.5, 42, 45.5, 49, 52.5)”, (89 (97.5, 106.5, 115.5, 124.5, 133.5) cm) finished bust. Sweater is designed to be worn with 2” (5 cm) of positive ease. Please see schematic for more detailed finished measurements.
SKILLS: Knitting, purling, picking up stitches, 3-Needle Bind Off.
