CASSIA
With a merino & silk cowl around your neck, you’re sure to be cosy and warm for the winter. Cassia is a ­beautiful cowl that resembles a harlequin pattern. It is great for leftover yarns or for some pretty mini skeins. Knit using short-rows, it’s a quick and fun knit and an excellent practice if you’re new to short-row ­knitting. If you want a matching shawl or wrist-warmers, it is knit using the same base ­pattern as the Fasett shawl and Vinjett wrist-warmers.

SIZE
Approximately 29 cm high x 48 cm circumference in sample cowl.

GAUGE
Ca 26 sts x 46 rows = 10 x 10 cm in ­garter stitch on 2.5 mm needles.

YARN CHOICE
Cassia is knit in fingering weight yarn, and there is an abundance of absolutely beautiful fingering yarns that you can get from your local hand-dyer or local yarn store. If you use a number of ­different ­colours, make sure to use the colour with the most contrast ­compared to the others as your contrast colour.
