Catalina Cowl
A gorgeous combination of stitch patterns flowing together to form the Catalina Cowl, a tribute to Queen Catalina of Aragon, Spain.
There are no complex stitches, just clearly explained sections of linen stitch, mosaic color work and a few rows of garter for texture.
The yarn I used was a natural merino and wild flax fibre blend, wind dried under the African sun. You can contact Baah Yarns to design your custom colors.
Materials:
Yarn: Baah Lino by Baah Yarns + Fibre Art (90% merino / 10% wild flax fibre) or
Color A: 40g
Color B: 20g
Color C: 30g
Color D: 40g
Shown in COLOR A: Castle Walls (pale gray), COLOR B: Black Fig (dark purple), COLOR C: Pepperberry (speckled dusty pink) and Color D: Stonehenge (brownish grey)
Needles: US 4 (3.5mm) circular needles.
Other notions: Stitch marker, tapestry needle.
Gauge:
24 stitches and 34 rows to 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette st after blocking.
Gauge is not crucial for this project. However, changes might result in a different yardage requirement.
