A cosy colour work cushion inspired by formal garden plots. Neat rows of flower motifs are separated by trellis all arranged in a perfect square.

Materials
For a result similar to the model, choose seven colour of Vintage Purls Tannahill yarn.
Tannahill is a pure merino, woollen spun, 4ply/fingering weight yarn (100g/396m).
I recommend:

• One background shade. Colour A. 100g. I used Nádarra, a soft grey/beige. All your other colours should contrast well against this one.

• Two shades of one colour for the trellis sections (e.g. two greens, one darker than the other). Colours B & C. 20g of each.

• Two shades of one colour for the flower sections (e.g. two purples, one darker than the other). Colours D & E. 20g of each.

• Two shades of one colour for the flower sections (e.g. two mauves, one darker than the other). Colours F & G. 20g of each.

• 2.75mm needles or size that gives you gauge. You need needles to work a small circumference in the round and to work a larger circumference. You could use double-point needles and/or circulars. I used both a 40cm and an 80cm long circular needle. I used the magic-loop method for the small circumference area. To work the cast off, an extra circular needle is required. This can be a smaller tip size, use whatever you have on hand.

• Stitch markers - one ring marker to denote the beginning of round, four removable markers to mark the corner stitches. Make one of your removable markers unique to mark the first stitch of the round.

• An invisible zipper - 25cm in length (longer is okay, you can shorten it if necessary). Choose a colour which is sympathetic to your colour A.

• Some cotton cord or similar to hold live stitches and assist in blocking.

• Sewing needle and thread for sewing in the zipper.

• Pins, scissors and other standard tools to aid in the finishing.

• A 40cm cushion insert.
