Celebratory Cracker Quilt Block Blanket
Made of Pieced, Multi-Directional Garter Squares.
Inspired by Quilters, based on the original Cracker Block pattern.
May be knit in just about any gauge…
The 28 inch square “X” layout blanket of 16 blocks was made with 5 skeins of Cestari Old Dominion Cotton, DK, 250 yards per skein :
3 skeins (main color) Dandelion
2 skeins Oyster Gray
The gauge was 20 stitches and 40 rows to 4 inches in garter, with a US6 needle. The border is Crocheted.
The 26 inch square “O” layout blanket of 16 blocks was made with 9 skeins of Quince and Co, Lark, Worsted, 134 yards per skein :
4 skeins (main color) Poppy
1 each 4 shades : Bird’s Egg, Aleutian, Glacier and Belize
1 skein Carrie’s Yellow, for the border
For the Lark version, 4 blocks were made using each of the background colors, always beginning with the main color, Poppy.
The gauge was 18 stitches and 36 rows to 4 inches in garter, with a US8 needle. The border is Garter.
