This is a product of some experimentation with working a square from the center out, first on double pointed needles and then, when it gets big enough, on a short circular. It also has an edging which is knitted (not sewn) on after the rest is done. If you plan ahead, you can still do the whole thing with one unbroken piece of yarn.
