Cepes Beret
Knitworthy is back! Join us this autumn for a new collection of gifts to knit, plus an online social club focussed on all things gift knitting.
Knitworthy 6 is a compendium of half a dozen beautiful accessory patterns perfect for gift knitting. The Knitworthy Social Club is a 12 week focus on gift knitting, whether the recipient is a loved one or yourself. The single pattern will be available from December 12th 2022.
Pattern accessibility There are three versions of this pattern pdf available. Print (3 column), mobile, and low vision.
Cepes Beret
Classic and perfectly on-trend our stylish Cepes Beret makes the most of simple texture and clean finishes. You begin construction by making a neat folded hem and then knit from the bottom up in a deeply textured banded rib pattern, which uses half twisted rib to crisply emphasise the pattern. The crown shaping is cleverly hidden between the ribbed bands, with paired decreases so that the knit and purl stitch columns are perfectly offset around.
Get creative with your stash and make this beret using either a single strand of worsted or aran weight yarn; or create a beautiful soft halo with DK held together with laceweight mohair. The pattern comes in a wide range of sizes, so you can gift it to anyone on your list, and includes directions for an optional I-cord stalk for the classic French finish.

Screen readers:
The low vision version is tagged to work with screen reading software and have been tested. Images have alt text. Abbreviations are used in the directions, they are defined but may be read aloud oddly. Numbers for multiple sizes are presented as lists of numbers within the text and may be difficult to keep track of when using a screen reader.
