November’s pullover is designed for outdoor wear. Fitted and cozy it is not too bulky to wear as a layer under another coat. Knit cervus in delicious Spice or warming Ancient Fern and allow the heathered depth of the colors to shine through the textured stitches. This pattern is paired with two recipes:
Hearty mashed potatoes with shiitake mushrooms
Venison steak with a thyme, butter, red wine sauce

Cervus is derived from the latin name for deer. The textured yoke and set in sleeves give just the right amount of stretch across the shoulders. The cuffs can be worn folded back, or fold them down and use the thumb-hole to help keep your hands warm too.

Yarn: 926 (1040, 1205, 1326, 1487, 1593, 1790, 1921, 2078, 2216) yards
Mountain Mohair; color: Spice; 7 (8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16) skeins
Peace Fleece Worsted; color: Ancient Fern; 5 (6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12) skeins
32-inch US# 7/4.5mm needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
1 set US #7/4.5mm double-point needles
2 markers
Yarn needle

Pattern Notes
Body is knit in the round in the rib, stockinette, and texture patterns. Then divided and worked flat above the arm openings. Sleeves are worked in the round except for the wrist which is worked flat leaving an opening for the thumb. The sleeve cap is worked flat and seamed into the armholes.

A note on sizing:
This pattern is designed to be truly unisex, not just as something that can be worn by both men and women but something that will be flattering for both if you follow the sizing guidelines in the pattern when determining which size to choose and which yarn to use. The guidelines cover fit and drape of the fabric. But generally speaking, to achieve the look of the modeled sweaters choose negative ease for the women’s sweater and positive ease for the men’s version.
