Pretty cardigan using knotted cable for collar, cuff, and bottom ribbing that adds a tassel-like effect at the outer edge of the knot.

Materials:
- Nature Spun Sportweight from Brown Sheep Company (100% wool; 1.75 oz / 50 g; 184 yds / 168 m) in color 105 Bougainvillea
- 9 (10) 11 (12) skeins / 1656 (1840) 2024 (2208) yds
- 12 (14) 14 (15) buttons, 5/8” diameter
- 18 (20) 22 (24)“ of 5/8”-wide grosgrain ribbon in matching color for buttonhole facing
- Thread in matching color for sewing ribbon and buttons
Needles:
- US 4 / 3.5 mm and US 5 / 3.75 mm needles
- US 3 / 3.25 mm and 4 / 3.5 mm circular needles, 32”, plus one extra size 3 needle for 3-needle bind-off
- 2 cable needles
Designer’s notes: The knotted cable pattern is the first cable pattern I have come across that utilizes two cable needles. It could also be worked with one cable needle by slipping stitches from the cable needle back to the left-hand needle. I found it somewhat simpler and quicker to use two cable needles. It is fun to work and no more difficult than working with one cable needle.
