Chain Link Scarf
by Teva Durham
When teaching my circular knitting classes, I often illustrate how not to join a round by twisting a strip of paper before joining the ends. This demonstration reminds me of the construction-paper chains I made in kindergarten. … These memories started me wondering if a chain could be knit. What would happen if you placed one tip of a circular needle through the center of a knit tube and then joined the round - would the needle or yarn get stuck, or would the yarn ball have to be constantly pulled through the center? I was surprised to find it worked without a hitch. -- description from Loop-d-Loop, pg. 17 (pattern on pg. 35)
