Chain Mail Stranded Beanie
This is a stranded beanie and is a fantastic example of color-work knitting. The burgundy, black, and white colors blend well together as well as being bold against the winter snow. The pattern of interlocking colors is reminiscent of chain mail when you look closely.
The three color stranding technique used is simple enough for knitters that are just beginning colorwork while still being engaging enough for an experienced knitter. The beanie fits snugly to the head and over the ears and folds easily to fit in a coat pocket. The pattern creates an extra thick fabric that keep your head very warm all winter long. The hat can be masculine or feminine based on the colorways chosen by the knitter. The knitter also has a choice of creating a snug fitting beanie or a beanie that slouches.
