A lovely interesting shawl reminiscent of the Channel Islands off the coast of Southern California. These amazing little islands are a nature preserve now and on clear days you can see their majestic hills rising above the Pacific Ocean. The rippling edge gives you the feel of water while also adding some lacy fun.

This shawl is actually quite easy once you get the hang of the stitch pattern. The “islands” are made up of short rows and knitting backwards makes everything much faster. (There are several good tutorials on you tube).

Using one skein of variegated yarn and one of semi solid gets the most bang for your buck though solids are just as pretty.

If you have any troubles at all please don’t hesitate to pm me. I know the short rows can cause some confusion in the beginning.
