Chasmanthium Shawl
The overlapping florets found in Sea Oats, or Chasmanthium, were the inspiration for the repeated lace motifs used for this simple but elegant triangular shawl which is worked flat and knitted from the top down on larger needles. It features the two adjacent triangle architecture separated by a decorative spine in the center with the motifs growing out of the sides and spine.
All of the patterns are given as charts; most of them plot out the treatments for the ever increasing edges at the top and along the spine. Finished measurements as shown: 96” x 40”.
Knit this generous shawl in a single ply fingering weight yarn that is soft and cuddly, preferably some that contains some luxury fiber in addition to wool. And then wrap up in softness!
