Cheboygan Scarf
This speedy little scarf is a fun way to use beautiful, heavy yarn. It will work up quickly and the pattern is really easy to memorize, making knitting it kind of a no-brainer after the pattern is established.
Sizes: Toddler (Child, Adult), to measure 48” (56”, 64”)/122 (142, 162) cm.
Yarn: 200 (300, 400) yards/180 (275, 370) meters of worsted – bulky weight yarn. Sample shown in Plymouth Worsted Merino Superwash colorway Cornflower (80).
Needles: Size US 7/4.5 mm straight needles, or size needed to obtain a loose fabric (check yarn label for size recommendations.)
Gauge: 18 - 20 sts and 24 - 26 rows = 4”/10 cm in Stockinette stitch. Gauge is not super important in this one; just ensure your fabric is nice and loose so the final scarf will be drapey.
Notions: 3 stitch markers, tapestry needle, blocking mat (optional), and 2 faux fur pompoms (optional; I used these: Rainbow Faux Fur Pompoms).
Techniques: Increases and decreases, including Central Quadruple Decrease (https://youtu.be/JIaq280ALhI or see page 3 for photo tutorial).
