MATERIALS:
Worsted weight wool-blend yarn approx.
30 oz. (1,970 yd.) cream, MC
15 oz. (985 yd.) dark green, A
15 oz. (985 yd.) burgundy, B
Yarn needle
GAUGE: Each block = 7.5”
GAUGE SWATCH: (Multiple of 4 sts)
Work as for block 1. Gauge is crucial when pieces are sewn together; especially when they are turned sideways.
PATTERN: 2 Block patterns are used. 32 blocks of pattern 1 and 31 blocks of pattern 2
ASSEMBLY:
Afghan is 7 blocks wide and 9 blocks long. Alternate blocks to form checkerboard pattern.
