These handwarmers are a modern take on timeless checkerboard and gingham designs. The eye-catching, easy-to-memorize stitch pattern offers a graphic design that can be quite minimalistic, or rich and loud, depending on the colors and contrasts used.

Length: 7” / 18 cm.
Circumference: 7 (8, 9)“ / 18 (20.5, 23) cm.
MATERIALS
Yarn: Fine Print by Purl Soho (75% superwash wool, 25% nylon, 218 yds / 199 m – 50 g).

C1: 1 skein in the colourway Tropical Pink.
C2: 1 skein in the colourway Candy Apple.
C3: 1 skein in the colourway Sunflower Yellow.
Sample 2
C1: 1 skein in the colourway Bright Turquoise.
C2: 1 skein in the colourway Orange Poppy.
C3: 1 skein in the colourway Sunflower Yellow.
Or approx. the foll amounts:
C1: 65 (74, 83) yds / 60 (68, 76) m of fingering-weight yarn.
C2: 65 (74, 83) yds / 60 (68, 76) m of fingering-weight yarn.
C3: 52 (61, 70) yds / 48 (56, 64) m of fingering-weight yarn.
Alternative yarn suggestions are for example Signature 4 ply by West Yorkshire Spinners, Huntington by Valley Yarns or Novita x Laine 4 ply by Novita.
Hook: US D-3 / 3.25 mm.
Notions: Stitch markers.
GAUGE
24 ldc x 18 rnds = 4” / 10 cm worked in Interlocking Block St in the rnd, after blocking.
NOTES
The handwarmers are worked from the bottom up, in the Interlocking Block St in the rnd in 3 colours, creating a tube. Reverse Sc Edging is then worked on both ends of the tube.
