PATTERN NOTES
The Checkmate Shawl is knit flat beginning along the widest edge and decreasing to the point, forming a right triangle. This pattern includes fully written instructions in addition to charts. Use the Broken Garter Stripes pattern in the Stitch Guide to create your gauge swatch.

When working in the Broken Garter Stripes pattern, color changes occur every two rows. Do not break yarn at the end of each stripe. Instead, twist the strands of yarn around one another every RS row.
