2 Crescent Shaped Shawls with Lace Edging.
One pattern, 2 shawls. Each shawl uses the same basic lace stitch pattern, but one has more depth, creating a larger lace shawl. The lace border is knit sideways; only working the lace pattern over a few stitches makes it easy to follow. Stitches are picked up along the garter stitch edge of the lace border to finish the body of the shawl which is worked in garter stitch. Short rows are used to create some graceful shaping and only yarn overs and K2tog are used for the lace pattern.
This is a great introduction to lace shawl knitting because the lace pattern is very easy, or for the experienced lace shawl knitter because it is a very intuitive stitch pattern that you will be able to memorize. The directions are written row by row.
Included in the pattern are photos, a list of abbreviations, and a stitch glossary. Techniques used are, cast on, bind off, slip 1, short rows, yarn over, knit 2 together and make 1.
Level: Advanced beginner to intermediate.
