The first cherry buds we see each year are a reassurance that spring is not just a thing of our imagination. They are a promise of warmer days coming soon, and seeing them always makes me believe in magic again.
Pick up needles with some lovely yarn and then, row by row, watch little buds coming to life on your very own pair.

These socks are an addition to my line of designs created to be worn at home and enjoyed as a dear treat. Maybe they are not especially necessary or practical, but who said everything has to be?

Size

• S (M, L): 7.5-8 (8-8.5, 8.5-9)“ / 18.5-20 (20-21.5, 21.5-23)cm wide
• Length is completely adjustable
• Sample socks were knit in size M

Yarn

• Up to 450yds/410m of fingering weight/sock yarn, depending on the sock length
• Recommended: solid, semi-solid or kettle dyed yarn, as it will show more details of the stitch patterns
• Sample socks yarn: Drops Fabel Uni Color (2 skeins, each: 1.75oz/50g, 224yds/205m, 75% superwash wool, 25% polyamide, color 102)

Needles and Gauge

• US 1/2.25 mm - US 2/2.75 mm - choose the size needed to obtain gauge of 32 sts and 48 rows in 4”/10cm in Stockinette Stitch, blocked
• Circular needles for magic loop method or a set of 5 DPNs

Construction and Pattern Details

• The socks are knitted from the top down.
• There are directions for stitch distribution for both the magic loop and the DPNs.
• The pattern has both the written row-by-row instructions and the charts.
• The heel is of a classic construction with a heel flap and a gusset.
• Both the heel flap and the toe are knitted with the addition of slipped stitches to create reinforced fabric.
