This scarf is a delightfully bold accessory with a wealth of texture that will add warmth to your neck and a joyful touch of colour to both cool, simple summer outfits and your winter outerwear, brightening up the shortest, greyest days of the year.

It’s extremely lightweight and easy to wear, whilst still having a more structured look, which works well as a focal point.

The stitch pattern is intriguing and interesting to work, with the light fluffy yarn to the rear and the denser yarn in relief. The regular changes of stitch to form the wave pattern maintain the maker’s interest and cause less hand tension, in my experience, than working the same stitch repetitively.

Sizes: one size with easy adjustments supplied in the “Make it your own” section

Tension: 17 sts x 9 rows = 10cm x 10cm / 4” x 4” measured over wave row stitch pattern using 3.25 mm hook, after blocking.

Working method: worked flat in rows along the length of the scarf, alternating colour used. Short ends are edged.
