Cherry Peaks sweater
A couple of years ago I took a small trip to the Jerte Valley in Spain. Between the end of March and the beginning of April, the hills and peaks of this valley look totally pink-and-white thanks to the flowering of more than a million cherry trees.
The memory of those days spent amongst the mountains covered with a blanket of cherry blossoms as far as the eye could see has inspired the Cherry Peaks collection, available both for knitting the beautiful “Cherry Peaks hat” and for this sweater you are about to knit.
Cherry Peaks sweater is a circular yoke that is worked seamlessly from the top down. The neck is worked first, after that, several series of short rows are used for a comfortable and beautifully shaped finish.
The yoke is shaped with increases that are evenly distributed around the entire circumference of the upper body.
Sleeves are then placed on hold and the body is worked toward the hem. The sleeve stitches are then placed on the needles again and worked in the round toward the cuffs.
The top is relaxed fit and as it is knitted top-down lengths are easily adaptable.
Beginner-friendly as you only work with 2 colors at a time.
Please note that the stranded pattern is charted only.
