The inspiration for this shawl began with the shape. I wanted to design a crescent-shaped shawl with a triangular center panel. I found the stitch patterns fairly quickly, but making them fit within my desired shape took a little bit of playing around. The lace edging went through several iterations before I was able to craft something that I was satisfied with and which flowed nicely out of the lace in the body of the shawl. The edging in the center panel ruffles slightly—and is more scalloped—while the side edges are zig-zags with points.

While directions for one size is given, modifications for other sizes are easily made, and directions are provided to make those modifications.
