Excerpt from Bargello Knits

The yarn definitely inspired the ruffle feature of this design. The lightweight, sheer fabric was begging to flow around the neckline and down the fronts into a lovely peplum at the back. The bargello chevron reveals itself at the buttoned front, the lower back, and atop the shoulders.

Pattern notes
The ruffle is worked in halves beginning at the lower back center with a provisional cast on. When the first half is completed, the second half is picked up from the provisional cast on. The main body section is worked from the center outward using 2 strands held together. The armholes are marked off with waste yarn. Live sts are picked up and worked in the round to create the sleeves. The ruffle is attached while binding off the main body section. Hint: This is a great project for interchangeable circular needles.
