Chic & chaud is an easy classic shawlette which gives you a Parisian Chic look. It is a quick make so you can easily give a fashionable update to your wardrobe with the colours of the season. Choose a light mohair or a silky laceweight yarn for a luxurious feel on skin.

The shawlette is knitted in the round from one tip to another. The construction is double. Only stockinette stitches are used. The tips of the shawlette are given a neat look by using smaller needles to start and finish the shawlette. Bigger needles for the main body of the shawlette make a looser texture which wraps nicely around the neck.

Chic & chaud shawlette is designed to wrap twice around the neck. The pattern is easily modified if you wish to make a shorter or longer shawlette.

Materials

Yarn: Les Petits Points Parisiens Mohair suprême
70% kid mohair 30% silk (500m = 50g)
1 skein, a total of 240 m / 265 yards.

Alternative yarns:
You can use any yarn, but this will affect the size of the shawlette, your gauge and the amount of yarn needed.

Needles:
US#1.5 (2.5mm) circular needle of 80 cm.
US#2.5 (3.0mm) circular needle of 80 cm.
US#4 (3.5 mm) circular needle of 80 cm.
US#6 (4.0 mm) circular needle of 80 cm.

Notions: Tapestry needle, lockable stitch marker,
tape measure, row counter.

Gauge:
24 sts and 30 rows = 4 inches / 10 cm in stockinette st
with US#6 (4.0 mm) needle, blocked.

Gauge is not important for this design.
You can knit the shawlette with a tighter or looser gauge or use another yarn and get a bigger or smaller shawlette.
