Chic and Sophisticated
The ribbed pattern is always a popular favorite in matching or contrasting color with an ensemble.
We suggest using either Bear Brand Winsom or Fleisher’s Win-Sport (2-ounce skeins) yarn. Directions are given for size 12-14 with size 16-18 in parentheses. The smaller size takes about 14 ounces; 16 ounces for size 16-18. You will need one pair each sizes 2 and 4 knitting needles or size required to obtain gauge.
Measurements for Blocking:
- Width at Bustline (buttoned): 38 inches for 32-34 inch bust; for 36-38 inch bust width at bustline buttoned is 42 inches
- Width of Back at Underarm: 19.5 (20) inches
- Width of Sleeves at Underarm: 14 (15) inches
Gauge:
Size 4 needles - 7 sts equals 1 inch, 9 rows equal 1 inch
Notes:
Cardigan body is worked in one piece to the underarms. The front and back are then worked separately to the shoulders. The sleeves are worked flat and seamed.
