Child's Top Down DK Jacket
Level of Difficulty - Beginner
This easy to knit garment is knitted entirely in garter stitch from the neck down, with the collar added at the end.
The raglan shaping of the shoulders takes place with increases on either side of what would normally be the shoulder seams. This means that you eliminate the sewing of the shoulder seams, but will still need to sew the sleeve seams. For those wishing to totally eliminate sewing, the sleeves could be worked in the round with double pointed needles from armhole to cuff, making sure that the garter stitch pattern is maintained by alternating between knit rows and purl rows.
The length of the sleeves and body of the garment can easily be adjusted to suit (just knit less or more rows as required).
