Chippy Socks for Kids
Check out my pattern for Chipper Color Cap (C3), which is great paired with these socks.

These socks were inspired by a color-loving toddler friend who loved her socks so much she would not take them off! I aspired to make her a pile of fun but unmatching socks, and these were the result. (Top Down with Dutch Heel, on DPN’s.)

Her response to the socks? “These are my Favorite!”

These are a quick knit in DK-weight yarn, and the colorwork keeps you fascinated. The patterns are easily memorized, and the knitting just speeds right on by. Three colors of yarn can be combined in infinite ways with six leg charts and four foot charts. Much fun, more color!

Sizes: Infant 0-1 / 2-3, (Child 8-9 / 10-11)

Supplies: 1 / 1, (1 / 1 / 1) 50g skein/ball each in three different contrasting colors.

I have used Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino 55% merino, 33% microfiber & 12% cashmere, 50g/137 yd, 100 white/104 orange/002 soft green; or (100 yards/relaxed) of Cascade Fixation* colors 2706 turquoise/5806 apple green/6178 raspberry.

Gauge: 6.25 stitches/inch* on Double-Pointed Needles (DPNs)

The lycra in this yarn means that different knitters can need anywhere from a size 2US to 6US needle to get this gauge… please swatch and wet the swatch to determine gauge before starting your project.

Note: Yarn in main photo is discontinued, an excellent substitute is Debbie Bliss Rialto. Blue/green/yellow yarns were a prototype in worsted-weight Cascade 220 superwash, which will not make the proper gauge to execute the finalized pattern specifications.
